At the same time, a series of rape/murders takes over the headlines. As Cat is a rape survivor, her perspective is a valuable part of the investigation. Eventually, it becomes clear that Cat’s rape and the rape/murder of the recent victims are intertwined. Through Thick and Thin is a character driven crime novel. The story is based on the real life friendship between two strong women—one a rape survivor and the other the CSI who helped to capture her best friend’s attacker.
