Marilyn Alcock lives in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, with her husband, Joe, and their two dogs, Snickers and Scout. Her love of animals has led her to write three books about her late Boston Terrier, Tuxedo and his pack which included his younger “brother” Snickers. 

Marilyn retired in 2011 from a 27 year career in the insurance industry where her writing ability first manifested itself. After marrying Joe in 2014, she began attending the Abacoa Writers Group with him.  Her books about Tuxedo began growing in her mind until she sat down at the computer one day and started writing.  The books have been enjoyed by many children and adults.   

   Tuxedo and Friends

Tuxedo, a Boston Terrier, tells his story of adoption, meeting each of his friends, learning Croatian language, traveling, and becoming the loving companion to his “parents”, Marilyn and Dave. Tux was an exceptional dog with the personality of a true American gentleman, as “Bostons” are often called.  His story needed to be told and remembered.

 Adventures of Tuxedo and Friends

Again we meet Tuxedo and his pack members through the eyes and words of Tux himself.  Each pup has a special story in which Tuxedo plays an important part in the moral lesson. 

Tuxedo and the Lost Kitties

The third book in the series about the life of Tuxedo, the author’s beloved Boston Terrier and his pack of friends, Snickers, Bellino, Lulu, Bruno, and Allie.  We also meet Charlie and Murphy, cats who show up on the doorstep one rainy evening.  The escapades of the characters will  have you laughing out loud.

Scout

Scout is the story of a delightful little dog of uncertain heritage who finds himself in a peck of trouble after escaping his yard and being picked up by the dog catcher. The story is told by Scout himself  and describes his adventure of living under a bridge, living in the shelter, making friends with fellow “cellmates”, and adoption day.

 Marilyn and Joe have six children and thirteen grandchildren. Their combined love of travel has taken them to Australia, New Zealand, Eastern Caribbean, Western Caribbean, France, and many National Parks in the USA. 

Together with her husband, as J & M Alcock, she has co-authored the newly released story of Captain Samuel Burgess, who sailed with the notorious Captain Kidd. Listed as Historical Fiction, The Sea Rogue: Captain Samuel Burgess is based on a true story you won’t be able to put down.
